The F-4 Phantom Was Designed For The Navy, But The Air Force Adapted It For Its New Technology And Ability To Carry Heavy Bomb And Missle Loads. It Is Now Retired From The Air Force, But The Marine Corps. Still Uses Them. It Was Also The Mainstay Fighter Used By The Navy Blue Angels Display Team. It Is Replaced By The F-14 Tomcat In The Navy, And The USAF Replaced it With The F-15 Eagle. It Was A Key Weapon In Vietnam For Iron Hand Missions (Sometimes Called Wild Weasel Ot Iron Hand Missions). These Were Used To Surpress SAM Sites.
