The XB-70 Never Made It Past The Experimental Stage. Two Things Caused It's Premature Retirement. First, It Had A Huge Radar Cross Section, And It Engines Were Easily Picked Up On Infrared. At This Time, Surface To Air Missiles Were Developed, Making It Obsolete. During A Publicity Photo For GE Engines, A Chase F-104 Starfighter Was Sucked In By The Wingtip Vortex. It Smashed Into The Tail, And The XB-70 Exploded And Crashed Into The Mojave Desert.
